Basketball Coach News on Building Fortunes Radio is hosted by Coach Irvin Harris and Peter Mingils on Monday at 5PM Eastern. On this snow blizzard show on March 2nd 2026, Irvin Harris invited Doug Scott.
Doug Scott has two websites worth looking at that were referenced on the show.
Doug Scott is a distinguished figure in the world of prep basketball, currently serving as the de facto Sports Information Director for the nation’s elite prep basketball programs. Through his platform, NEPrepbasketball.net, and his X account (@NEPrepBB), Doug has established himself as a vital resource for coaches and players.
He is the founder of RecruitTheBronx.com, a widely-used website that profiles college prospects in Greater New York and Connecticut. This platform is utilized by thousands of college coaches seeking to scout talent.
Doug retired from coaching in 2018 after an impressive tenure at Greens Farms Academy in Connecticut. He transformed a program that had averaged just one win per year for 30 years prior to his arrival in 2010. Under his leadership, the team reached five consecutive NEPSAC Final Fours, and Doug was recognized as the New England Prep Coach of the Year three times during his eight years at GFA. His players have gone on to compete at prestigious programs, including Duke, Wake Forest, and Maryland.
In addition to his coaching achievements, Doug has a successful background in finance, having financed his 30 years of coaching through a successful Wall Street career, from which he retired in 2004 after earning his MBA from Harvard in 1987. He has lived in Darien, CT, for the past 35 years.
Doug is actively involved in producing two NEPSAC Scholastic Live Period showcases during the NCAA live periods in June, which are the largest showcases of their kind, attracting over 600 NEPSAC college prospects and hundreds of college coaches looking to scout and make offers.
